Our Doctors

Our Doctors share over 71 years of practice experience. They have varied special interests in orthopedic surgery, cytology, infectious diseases, feline behavior, soft tissue surgery, internal medicine, special diagnostics, ultrasound, endoscopy and myleography. They offer veterinary care for all life stages of your cats and dogs - from your first visit with your kitten or puppy to the special care needed for your senior pet. Dr. Hayes, Dr. Baker and Dr. Myers are here full-time to serve you. Dr. Whitney is available for surgery and referal appointments 4 mornings per week.

Our Veterinary Technicians

Our technicians are here to help you get settled in the exam room and to take care of the initial interview concerning your pet's needs and health problems - before you see the veterinarian. This gives us two opportunities to address your concerns about your pet and assures that all of your questions are answered during your visit.

A technician assists the doctor in the care of your pet during your entire visit. Their duties include monitoring anesthesia, patient treatments, assisting in surgery and monitoring your pet after surgery. They also take X-rays, process lab work, order inventory and make many of the calls to check on our patients' progress.

They will teach you about caring for your new puppy or kitten and are happy to explain medication use, prescription diets, home care for patients being released, and answer any other questions that you may have. They are an integral part of our practice.

We also have a technician/surgical assistant who takes care of our surgical suite and the sterilizing of instruments. She also handles numerous other tasks that help our hospital run smoothly.

Our staff consists of both full-time and part-tuime technicians. Some are certified and others have been trained here. They are greatly appreciated and we feel it would be impossible to serve you without them.

Our Management and Customer Care Staff

Our management staff includes a practice manager and two part-time office assistants. They are in charge of personnel, facilities and all business aspects of the practice. This leaves the technicians and doctors free to care for your pets.

Our receptionists or 'customer care specialists' are here to serve you when you call in or arrive at one of our hospitals. They will warmly greet you, make sure that your pet's file is ready and updated, and check your pet in for their appointment for surgery or hospitalization.
They are compassionate and caring and truly love dogs and cats. They will check you out after your visit, schedule your next visit, and check to be sure that all of your questions have been answered. They are a great team of customer service professionals.

Our Animal Caregivers

Taking care of our boarded pets and keeping our kennel area and treatment cages spotless and disinfected is the responsibility of our Animal Care Givers or kennel staff.

Often these are students who are interested in becoming veterinarians or veterinary technicians. This job enables them to gain experience in an animal hospital, which they will need to help meet their future career goals.

They come in twice daily to see that each pet is clean, fed, exercised and has fresh water and a fresh clean area to stay.
They also give medication when needed. They do their best to see that your pet is comfortable and happy.

Of course, our doctors and technicians are also checking on your pets. This enables you to have peace of mind about leaving your pet with us and knowing they are receiving the best of care.
