Here is a uterine horn and ovary.
Clamps are placed above and below the ovary to prevent bleeding.

The vessles are ligated (tied) and one ovary is removed.

The process is repeated on the second ovary.The ovaries

Female Dog's UterusHere, both ovaries are out. You can see the Y shape of the uterus. The cervix is the whitish area near the skin.

Clamps are placed above the cervix removing the uterusand it too is ligated.
At this point the total uterus, horns, and ovaries are removed.
