Holly is a Collie!
The Collie can only be traced back to the 1800's. A theory of its history connects the word "collie" with the Gaelic word for "useful" that was used in connection with the farm dogs that were valued by the Celts & brought to the British Isles to herd their sheep.
Collies are usually gentle and devoted to their masters. They will become frustrated if they don’t receive daily mental and physical exercise. Because it is a herding dog, it sometimes will nip heels during play.
The males will weigh around 70 lbs & the females around 60 lbs. Males are about 25" tall & females about 23" tall. The coat will need weekly brushing for maintainence.
We are pleased to welcome Holly to our practice!
