Chelsey Bear is a Miniature Goldendoodle!
The Mini GoldenDoodle is a cross between a Miniature Poodle and a Golden Retriever with the hopes of obtaining the best of both breeds. It shouldn't be difficult with this combination: the Golden and the Poodle both love the water, are intelligent, eager-to-please, love to play and are eager to learn. Their common hunting and swimming background predicts a willing companion.
The Miniature Poodle normally will stand under 15" tall and weigh around 20 pounds; while the Golden Retriever will average around 50-60 pounds and stand about 22-25 inches tall, so the Miniature Goldendoodle should be smaller than the Golden and larger than the Mini Poodle. The Golden Retriever and the Poodle are both a solid color dog, with the Poodle bringing more color variety into the mix. Most Golden doodles grow the Poodle coat, although some don't. Those with the Poodle coat will need regular grooming and an indoor home to prevent mats. Chelsey Bear has the rich golden brown of the Golden Retriever and the curls of the Poodle.
GoldenDoodles need a regular training program that will give them mental stimulation or they will become bored and find alternate methods to fill their time. They should be active, playful, amiable dogs that need plenty of exercise to prevent gaining weight as they grow older.
We are pleased to welcome Chelsey Bear to our practice!
