Cavapoo

Val is a Cavapoo!

The cavapoo is the result of crossing the Cavalier King Charles Spaniel with a Poodle. The intent is to produce a dog with a non-shedding coat. The results may not be consistent in appearance because both parents are separate pure breeds; however, some characteristics of their appearance are common. Since both parents have luxurious coats, the puppies usually do too. The texture may be curly or silky and feathered. Colors may be gold, black, white, brown and white or tricolor. Facial features are typically brown, with well set back ears that hang low. The tail is usually long and hangs freely past the hocks.

The coat will require a weekly brushing to prevent knots. Those who develop the Poodle coat will require more frequent brushing and regular clipping.

The Cavapoo will weigh between 7 and 18 pounds. It averages 9-14 inches tall and will need regular exercise, such as walks and games. It is suited to apartment living, as this intelligent little animal can be housetrained fairly quickly.

It is a friendly, energetic dog that thrives on human companionship. Some can become somewhat hyper without adequate exercise. They tend to follow their owners wherever they go and may suffer from separation anxiety and barking when left behind. They are friendly to everyone,

We are pleased to welcome Val to our practice!
