Ginger is a Brittany Spaniel!
These small dogs are members of the sporting group. They are descended from French land spaniels that were crossed with English Setters in attempt to get a larger spaniel. The cross resulted in a tailless dog that has continued to be either tailless or stub-tailed to this day. They are excellent pointers and retrievers.
Brittany’s are quick, curious and always on the watch for birds. They are hardy, independent, love to play, and are very responsive to humans. Having descended from hunting stock, they need plenty of mental and physical exercise on a daily basis.
They need weekly brushing to maintain the long wavy coat. They should weigh between 30 and 40 pounds and stand around 18 to 20" tall.
We are pleased to welcome Ginger to our practice!
