This little puppy is a Schnoodle!
The Schnoodle is created by crossing a Schnauzer with a Miniature Poodle with the hopes of obtaining the best of both breeds. Both breeds originated in Germany; however, the Schnauzers were bred to be ratters and the Poodle was bred for hunting and retrieving water game. There were Poodles in the background breeding of the original Schnauzers.
Both the Schnauzer and the Miniature Poodle average about 15 pounds in weight and they stand about 14” tall. Most of the Schnoodles grow the Poodle coat, although some don’t. The coat for either the Poodle or the Schnauzer will need to be regularly groomed and frequently brushed.
The Poodle and The Schnauzer are two breeds that are both very intelligent, amiable and energetic; therefore, the Schnoodle will need a regular training program that provides mental and physical stimulation or they will become bored and find "alternate methods" to fill their time. They need plenty of exercise to prevent gaining weight as they grow older.
We are pleased to welcome this Schnoodle puppy to our practice!
