The breeding of cats can be characterized as having two paths – natural and selective. The "natural" breeds are typified by cats that have developed over generations into patterns of coat color, length and body type that encourage survival. Some examples of these are the Maine Coon, Persian and Angora. They will almost always breed true to type if two like specimens are allowed to breed; unlike those breeds that only appear with careful selective breeding for recessive traits. Some examples of these are the Scottish Fold, hairless Sphynx and the Ragdoll. We are pleased to welcome Allie to our practice!
