Frankie is a Dachshund!

Dachshund means badger in Germany, where this little breed originated. Evidence of the existence of these little dogs doesn't exist until the 16th century, when a "low crooked legged" dog was mentioned for hunting badgers. They love to hunt and dig, are independent and good with the children in its’ own family.

These curious little dogs are bold and ready for adventure! They can have smooth, long or a “rough” coat, but the originals were smooth. Their colors range from the well known red through brindle. It's small size, size (under 9 inches!), makes it ideal for apartment life, but it loves a chance to take walks outside.
