Crush is a Miniature Pincher Mix!
The Miniature Pincher predates the larger Doberman Pincher and is not a descendent as is sometimes believed. There are paintings that date back to the 17th century that depict them, while the Doberman is known to have originated in the late 1800's. It is thought that they resulted from crossing German Pinchers with Dachshunds and Italian Greyhounds.
An emphasis on breeding for ever smaller sizes nearly crippled the breed near the end of the 19th century, but fortunately wiser minds prevailed and the breed returned to its former soundness with elegant movement.
Min Pins are "perpetual motion machines", constantly busy and playful! This little bundle of energy needs lots of exercise, but can't tolerate the cold. The coat is one of the most carefree, needing only occasional brushing to remove dead hair.
We are pleased to welcome Crush to our practice!
