Gandalf is a Bichon Frise!
The Bichon Frise is a member of the non-sporting group. They originated in the Mediterranean area, where they were bred to be companions and carnival performers. They were a favorite during the reign of Napoleon III, but faded from popularity to become common street dogs; until it was discovered that they had quite a propensity to perform tricks!
The bouncy, playful attitude of these little dogs quickly endears them to all who meet them. They are friendly toward other pets and strangers.
Because they are so affectionate towards their family, they do not like to be left alone, and may bark. The white coat needs daily brushing and regular grooming. It is said that they don't shed, but the loose hairs can become tangled in the fur and cause mats. This is not a dog that should live outdoors.
We are pleased to welcome Gandalf to our practice!
