This small view of our well equipped hospital laboratory shows Dr. Hayes using the teaching microscope to examine some cells. The use of the microscope permits the Doctors to determine the presence or absence of bacteria, malignant cells or parasites. We can perform blood testing to diagnose diabetes, kidney disease, liver disease, Feline Leukemia, and Feline Immunodeficiency. We are able to do urine testing (urinalysis) and fecal samples to test for intestinal parasites without having to send the samples away - which allows us to give you a faster diagnosis, and more immediate treatment. Our laboratory also allows us to do Cytology. This means that we are able to aspirate cells from growths and organs and examine the cells to check for the presence of infections or cancer. |
