Take Action
Arterial bleeding will be bright red, come in "spurts", and will be difficult to stop. This is a life-threatening situation that Requires immediate veterinary attention.
For any type of bleeding, place a clean cloth or sterile gauze over the injury.
Apply direct pressure to the wound for at least 5 to 7 minutes to stop bleeding.
No tourniquents without consulting your veterinarian.
