Zoey, intubated
The endotracheal tube has been placed to protect the airway and allow controlled flow of gas.
The K-E in place
The K-E is now being placed into position. It will go through the skin and into the bone to provide the necessary stability. The K-E will protrude from the skin until it is removed. It will be necessary for her to wear an E-Collar, so that she won't be able to rub her face and dislodge the device.
